A spectacular show from all the dancers. Centre couple Kru Keli Carpenter and her pro partner Scott Dieliessen were the winners of Dancing with our Community Stars IV. They won with their sizzling West Coast Swing number.

Friday night workshops and dances run during the regular sessions Sept. to Dec. and Jan. to May. |
The workshops offer students opportunities to explore new dance styles and polish their technique. It’s very important to experiment with a variety of rhythms and movements when you are first learning to dance. For people who are unable to attend regular classes workshops are an excellent option. |
Our Friday night dances are the highlight of the week. It’s a chance to socialize with new and old friends and to practice your dancing in a party setting. Fellow students and teachers are happy to help if you get stuck on a step. Theme nights are especially popular. Everyone likes to dress accordingly and get into the spirit of the party. Refreshments, prizes and many other surprises add to the fun. |

While maintaining the integrity of our beloved hall, major renovations to the Native Sons Hall will include a new sprung maple floor, new washrooms, a new expanded kitchen, new windows that open for natural air flow, new lighting, restoring the original entrance, and work done to the outside facade as well. Work should be completed this summer. Classes will definitely be there in September. We will have a special grand opening affair in the fall! In the meantime most of our classes are relocated to the Filberg Centre with a few dates in other locations. This renovation project has displaced numerous user groups not only from the Native Sons but from the Filberg Centre too. Other halls in the community are able to accommodate everyone quite nicely. Your patience and support is greatly appreciated during this time. Any inconvenience on our part is well worth the end result.

Our t-shirts are made of a lightweight breathable fabric that wicks away moisture and keeps you dry and cool in class. V-necks, golf shirts and fleece jackets are available for men and ladies. Ladies V-necks and golf shirts have a tapered fit. The golf style is a dressier look in a slightly heavier fabric and has contrasting piping.
Our fleece jackets have raglan sleeves, side zippered pockets, elastic cuffs and drawstring hem for a perfect fit. They are lightweight, very soft and cozy.
They all come in black with the ValDance logo embroidered on the front.
V-necks and golf shirts are $50.00. Fleeces are $70.00. For a few dollars more you may have your name embroidered beneath the logo.

It's official, North America is experiencing a Ballroom Boom. Primetime devoted 1 hour to this phenomenon. It began 2 years ago when "Shall We Dance" was released. Usually these trends take 5 or 6 years to trickle into the smaller communities but we felt it here immediately too. Not a day goes by when I don't get inquiries about lessons. Last Thursday a lady phoned me at 10 p.m., inspired after seeing "Dancing with the Stars" wanting to add her name to the wait list for September. As well as teaching our group classes and private lessons we have been teaching in the middle schools and doing weekend workshops for private functions. I have had to turn down many requests locally and some wanting me to go out of town to teach. It's an exciting time for all of us. There are some dance events in the planning stages that you will be the first to know about!
